constructed with revmap(), or a named vector mapping from symbols
to probe set IDs}
  \item{pdvname}{ featureData variable name to be used to hold the 
annotations of variables kept  }
  \item{collapseFun}{ statistical function for collapsing data across
probes mapping to the same gene }
